CAPRI, the pedestrian island
Journey
Once landed at the harbor of Capri and delivered your suitcases at the baggage service, you will reach the famous Piazzetta - the main center of the island of Capri - opting between the cable railway, taxi or bus. From the Piazzetta proceed to the characteristic street "Via Le Botteghe". After about 400 meters (1.300 feet) the road becomes "Via Croce". Continue upto the crossroad. Proceed straight, the street becomes "Via Tiberio", continue upto the first side street and turn left on "Via Cesina". Go up to number 26, on your right you will find the entrance of Villa Carolina.

Near Villa Carolina you can enjoy enchanting places like the famous Villa Jovis, house of Emperor Tiberius Claudius Nerone; the special Arco Naturale, the ancient Grotta di Matermania, the Bosco delle Noci a perfect place to admire the sunrise, the refined and full of intrigue Villa Lysis where is possible to attend to concerts and very rare events, the famous Piazzetta, center of the sparkling capri life. Nearby you can even find a supermarket, some bar and restaurants.

Transportation and luggage
Hydrofoils and ferries
The beautiful island of Capri can be reached all year round from the port of Naples (Molo Beverello or Calata Porta di Massa) and from Sorrento. During the summertime the number of daily trips increases and you can also reach the island from Positano, Amalfi, Salerno and the island of Ischia. From the port of Naples the journey time is 45 minutes by hydrofoil and cost around € 19,00. Just landed in Capri we will recommend you to buy your return ticket in the harbor.
TimetablesCable railway
From the harbor of Capri to reach the Piazzetta, the center of the island of Capri, you can choose between three different options: the characteristic and economic cable railway, the original but more expensive taxis or the bus. Whatever is your choice, when you arrive in the island of Capri you need to walk along the entire pier to find its stationing. The cable railway runs every 15 minutes but during the high season the races are continuous. The journey takes about 4 minutes.

You can find taxis at the port and in all central locations, but can also be stopped on the way or be contacted by telephone. If you have limited time available taxi driver can also show you the main attractions of the island. The cars are comfortable and original and some of them have been commissioned specifically for the island. From the port to reach the Piazzetta, the average price of the ride is about € 20,00. The journey time is about 15 minutes.

The center of Capri is mostly pedestrian, for this reason to enjoy the walk and especially to avoid unnecessary fatigue, we recommend you to leave your luggages to the baggage service. You will find it on the pier at the hydrofoil/ferry exit. Your luggages will be brought directly to Villa Carolina. The service is professional and reliable. From the port, the cost is about 11 euro per suitcase, 7 euro if you deliver them in the Piazzetta.
